Summary
If a person consumes anything because he did not remember he was fasting, the fast is not broken.
Answer
If a person consumes or drinks anything during the day in Ramadan because he truly forgot that he was fasting, the fast will not break. This is irrespective of how much he eats or drinks, so long as he stops eating or drinking immediately as soon as he remembers or is reminded.
It is narrated from Abu Hurayrah by Imam Muslim (§1155) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

It is mentioned in al-Hidayah and other key Hanafi texts:
If a fasting person eats, drinks or engages in intercourse during the day due to forgetfulness, the fast is not broken [1/120].[2]
وإذا أكل الصائم أو شرب أو جامع نهارا ناسيا لم يفطر
And Allah Almighty knows best.
